Tao Yuanming (approximately 365-427 AD), named Qian, with the courtesy name Yuanliang, also known as Mr. Wu Liu, was posthumously named Jingjie and known as Mr. Jingjie. He was said to be from Chaisang County, Xunyang County (now Jiujiang, Jiangxi) and Yifeng, Jiangxi. He was an outstanding poet, lyricist, and essayist from the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the beginning of the Liu Song Dynasty.
Tao Yuanming once held positions such as Jiangzhou sacrificial wine, Jianwei enlisted in the army, Zhenjun enlisted in the army, and Pengze County Magistrate. He served as Pengze County Magistrate for the last time and resigned after more than 80 days. From then on, he retired to the countryside. He was the first pastoral poet in China, known as the "ancestor of ancient and modern reclusive poets", and hailed as the "ancestor of reclusive poets" and the "ancestor of the pastoral poetry school".
Tao Yuanming's works include "Drinking Wine", "Peach Blossom Spring", "Returning Home and Returning", "Biography of Mr. Wu Liu", etc. He is the first literary giant in Jiangxi.
